How I Knew I Was Ready to Become an Entrepreneur

coffee-shop-window.jpg-1050x700

A friend of mine, who is an avid reader of my blog, asked me if I could write a post on when and how I knew was ready to start a business. Thinking back, I remember it started at the age of 19 when I was in college studying business. To keep afloat, I worked small part-time jobs in restaurants, bars and small offices. While I was enrolled in business classes I learnt that starting a business wasn’t as hard as it everyone said it was. I also realized that I would much prefer to work for myself than the employers who I had currently worked for. With that in mind, I made my first step into the world of entrepreneurship but before I took that important step I ran down these 6 points:

  • Was ready to start crafting my passion?:

When we start our careers we usually start in low entry jobs. These jobs generally entail tasks that are repetitive or soon become repetitive. It came to the point where I wasn’t pshcially capable of doing work I didn’t want to do anymore. I knew that by becoming my own boss and by stepping into the world of entrepreneurship I would be able to experience and practice a much broader line of skills. Entrepreneurship allows you to focus on the activities and passions you care most about or are most interested in. You can do this by finding ways to incorporate them into your business or forming your business around this concept.

  • I never received anything from the companies I worked for that was as valuable as the time I invested:

Building someone else’s dream is what we call a job, or even a career. If you have a job, it needs to bring something into your life. As for me, completing projects that brought an already wealthy person more money wasn’t filling in my achievement meter. I found the companies I worked for generally lacked a sense of community, meaningful goals and proper values. If you’re going to work for a company find one that you can admire and if you can’t find a non-materialistic value in them don’t work for them. Start your own projects, make a difference in the world and don’t submit to a greedy CEO. I decided that my time was best invested when it was towards my own dreams and passions.

  • I desired to live my life to its fullest and was ready to create the time to do so:

When you’re employed you will always have schedules, mannerisms and goals to follow. You’ll have deadlines to follow, a boss to follow, a contract to follow – you’ll be following something constantly. To me, becoming an entrepreneur was my entry way to following my own schedule and creating my own rules. I know, many people who put up with unjustified behavior and treatment at their jobs because they enjoy the comforts of their stability within their jobs. Something they don’t realize is that their quality of life has declined for all the wrong reasons and reasons that are not worth it.

Maintaining a free schedule that allows you to stay disciplined is important. Being able to freely decide on what they are doing, when they are doing it, how they’re doing it and who you are dealing with is what I define as true freedom.

  • I wanted to do make decisions and felt entitled to my opinion and beliefs:

I am a free soul who bases everything I do off of my vision, morals and values. Within a job, often times employers make you operate on their terms. They force you to see from their perspectives with the bribery of money which will eventually corrupt the soul. You have to always remember that you can be your own leader and develop your own methods of business even if they are not as prosperous as other solutions. For example, I am completely against non-environmentally friendly production so I do my best to find dealers who are socially and environmentally friendly.

When you give yourself the freedom to navigate your operations the way you desire – you’ll notice immediately the inspiration that will fill your mind with good.

  • I had the will power to minimize my life in the mission to maximize it.

Almost every self-made business owner knows the struggle of starting their own business with no support other than our own two hands. We have less money, time, social life and romance all for the sake of our start-up. Building a business from the ground up is like having a new born baby – you invest everything into its growth. You have to give up the expensive life style that included your fancy meals – unless it’s for potential business, reduce the amount of times you go out, limit your unnecessary shopping, etc. This sounds depressing but it’s actually so empowering. I’ve become a minimalistic through these strict practices and I do not not feel as if anything in my life is missing. I believe it is because I am working towards something that I believe is far greater than materialistic things.

  • I felt uncomfortable staying in something I didn’t believe in:

This point is my finishing point – it is also the most important. This doesn’t just apply to work or business – it applies to everything in life. As individuals, we have so much power and groups we have even more. When you are in a situation that makes you feel uncomfortable or feels wrong you must take action. For me, I simply didn’t agree with  my past employmers which is why I took a step in my own direction. You should do the same.

I hope you enjoyed this read and please share your experiences and thoughts in the comment board!

Start-up Motivation & Inspiration

Business owners only make up for about %6 of the entire human population with just over 400 million entrepreneurs. However, there are so many people who do have the right mind set and personality for entrepreneurship. Many of these people also know how to achieve success in a business as well as the perks of owning a business. The main concern is losing their day time job and steady income.

I’ve decided to share a job campaign in which the advertisements show people in jobs that appear to be not very exhilarating. The advertisement is encouraging individuals who desire to get out of jobs that they find meaningless and exhausting. The ads below attempt to give these targeted individuals the confidence and inspiration they may need to start focusing and planning a business or career change that will allow them to strive in life while feeling fulfillment and happiness in a new career path..

Reawakening

 inspiring photo

A few words of inspiration to anyone working hard to build their dreams:

Time to wake up and acknowledge life.

Remembering that time is continuing without you and that that alone should inspire you to continue dreaming and aspirating. Always remember your most positive and negative experiences, they are the most impactful and influential. Wisdom comes from deep experiences and confirmed thoughts – you’ll always be tempted to forget them but don’t. Those experiences and thoughts are valuable, they help us realize that our own reality is truly at our own finger tips and no one else is at fault or even contributing to that reality or any life expectations. We make everything we want to happen happen, we understand many things but only invest, admire and care about preferences as well as beliefs. We can willingly make every action count and every memory last, and we can taste as much freedom and happiness as we desire. The road that is simpler and less challenging will simultaneously cause you to continuously seek satisfaction instead of happiness. Satisfaction does not last.

Time to cast away society’s promises, boundaries and confusing illogical patterns. What’s worse than being broken is being broken and also doing nothing about it. Don’t waste time lingering, wasted time will never be given back to you, wasted time will haunt you, wasted time will deprive you of the things you wanted, adventures and often times the happiness of you and those around you. Always work towards something you’re passionate about, let only the most passionate people into your life, keep the people who make you who you are close. Never throw away something you believe in when it becomes too challenging because it will always have the same value that you saw in it right from the beginning, if not more.

Go for the most positive opportunities that will grow you and make you happy. Life can be disgustingly ugly but I believe it will only happen to those who feared it would. There are no real promises, there are no real certainties or boundaries there is only a reality and that can always be directed. Understand the possibilities and you’ll never fall hard. Be grateful, be keen, be genuine, and be happy.

Don’t follow the average mind and don’t follow society and it’s ever changing trends; build your own reality while following your own mind and rules.

Start Your Business & Be Your Own

Start a Business

Many have noticed rising problems developing within our society and I particularly notice a number in on our economy. Our economy is being run by wealthiest and most impersonal corporations. Many see this as  a large problem considering these corporations are driven mostly by what will bring them back a solid ROI and by ROI their sole interest always ends up being money. Many of them are unaware or lack the required knowledge of what our other systems need in order for them to continue functioning properly for example: social economy, nature & earth, population growth, and etc.

The general population works for money and generally do not work in industries that connect to their passions. Originality is slowly becoming more and more commercialized and scarce. The average working class person need to stop being employed by large corporations and companies and start employing themselves. In many cases, employees are like toothbrushes to corporations; They use them until they’re worn out or not reaching expectations anymore. By opening up your eyes you will be capable of employing yourself. If you do, you will be contributing to a stronger and more powerful community/state or province/ country. Freedom lies within making decisions and building your schedules, plans, and image not to mention your sales will also be 100% your own and not only %2 – %20. In many cases, owning your own business is a much more secure future and a prosperous investment.  It is generally a much wiser contribution to your family’s future. It is definitely more brilliant than the a few thousand dollars your employer gave you tucked away in a savings account.

Having a large social circle and network has given me insight into people who are investing so much of their time into their boss’s dreams while hardly making enough time for their own aspirations . It’s all for money and a falsely ”earned” security. They are dependant on money and their consumer lifestyles they’ve lived for years; My theory is they believe all  things money can buy will bring them happiness which many of you have already realized isn’t true. When opening your mind to the endless possibilities you will realize that when starting a business you can build an empire out of anything and on any budget, as long as you do it properly. It is something that is much more fulfilling than spending a pay check on a brand name item, designer dress, trip to France or a new and expensive Ferrari – trying to fill in a hole of missed opportunities and sadness.

When you think about it your boss is earning all the real glory, happiness, security and money. By investing a little more time and effort into your work you could be your boss and get paid the right number for your work not to meant receive the proper amount of recognition you should be getting for giving your clients (not your boss’s clients ) the outstanding results they asked for.

When lacking certain skills to start a business seek associations. For example, if you are not good with sales – find a sales rep who is interested in selling your product(s) or service(s) or helping you generate leads or find an associate who could use your services in exchange for leads. Find ways to move you, your business, and your investment forward.

Leave your comments below and I will create a video discussing this topic and your responses and we can begin a conversation or debate on our opinions of theories.
